This study was conducted to determine the distribution and the density of weeds species which are problem on potato fields located in central Tokat and its districts in 2001. Survey was performed on the basis of divided sample method. Survey was conducted between May and July on 51 potatoes fields. In study of potato fields, total 60 weed species were determined and average number of weeds in m2 was determined as 67.61. The weed species with higher infestation rate and density were found in this study as follows; Solatium nigrumL. (black night shade), Chenopodium albumL. (green pigweed), Convolvulus ar\>ensisL. (field bindweed). Galium aparineL. (catchweed bedstraw), Lolium perenneL. (English rye grass) and Amaranthus hybridusL.
