Abstract

Wang et al1 are commended for drawing the readerships’ attention to the importance of what could be called preventive overdrive suppression immediately following atrioventricular junctional ablation in a recent issue of HeartRhythm. The introduction says without reference: “It has been suggested that a higher pacing rate may decrease the occurrence of sudden death.” The authors might have chosen “recommended” and referred to“Transient proarrhythmic state following atrioventricular junction radiofrequency ablation: pathophysiologic mechanisms and recommendations for management” published in American Journal of Medicine 2002 by our group and summarizing the accumulated knowledge up to then.
