About Thomas Kiffmeyer Thomas Kiffmeyer received his undergraduate degree from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) in 1985 and his PhD from the University of Kentucky in 1998. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of History at Morehead State University. His publications include Reformers to Radicals: The Appalachian Volunteers and The War on Poverty (University Press of Kentucky) and We Are Ordered To Do Everything: The National Advisory Commission on Rural Poverty and American Social Thought (Register of the Kentucky Historical Society).
