Abstract

Intrapartum infections are a significant contributor to maternal and neonatal morbidity. Many providers attempt to limit cervical examinations based on theoretic concern for infection. A previous smaller study demonstrated no increased risk of fever with repeated digital cervical exams. We sought to reassess this question in a larger and more contemporary cohort.
