Abstract

The time-averaged acoustic forces and torques experienced by an arbitrary shaped rigid particle located in a viscous fluid are formulated analytically and calculated by the BEM (Boundary Element Method) algorithm. There are many advantages of the method established in this paper, for example, no restrictions of the incident wave type and size and shape of the particle, and high efficiency and accuracy in numerical simulations.
