Abstract

A two-dimensional model of the dipolar solute-solvent interactions has been developed on the basis of the Fokker-Planck equation. This model is used to describe the time dependence of the interaction energy following the electronic excitation. The results obtained for some typical molecular parameters are discussed. The time dependence of the interaction energy is found to be non-exponential.
