Abstract
The Third International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar, co-sponsored by the Aluminum Association and the Aluminum Extruders Council, was held April 24–26, 1984, in Atlanta, Georgia It addressed the contributions made by improved processes and equipment, die design, automation, and billet and extrusion technology which have increased productivity in the aluminum extrusion industry. Contributors from 10 nations presented over 100 papers. The conference reviewed a series of papers addressing the importance of understanding the physical metallurgy of aluminum extrusion alloys in economical production.
