Abstract

A prolate spheroid immersed into a non-uniformly heated magnetic fluid in an applied magnetic field is considered. The expressions for the pressure and velocity of the fluid, the temperature and magnetic field are obtained. The formula for a thermomagnetic force acting on the body is calculated. It is shown that we have to take the body shape into account when we study the thermomagnetic diffusion of the prolate bodies.
