Abstract

TSEE from the (100), (110) and (111) surfaces in LiF was studied. Glow curves have been measured by the gas-flow counter after ? ray irradiation in air, and by the micro-channel plate after UV and X ray irradiaton in ultra high vacuum (UHV). Energy spectra have also been measured by the retarding-field method for the UV and X ray excited samples in UHV. The results obtained show that the glow curves differ slightly in shape from each other for the y and X ray irradiated crystals but for the UV irradiated samples the peak temperatures are similar to each other. The mean energies were found to be 0.28 ~ 0.30 eV for the 220 oC peaks of the three surfaces of the UV-irradiated samples, about 0.40 eV for the 220 oC peaks of the (100) and (110) surfaces and 0.48 eV for the same peak of the (111) surface of the X ray irradiated crystals.
