Abstract

The thermal diffusivity and heat capacity of lithium titanate (Li 2TiO 3), produced by AECL (Chalk River, ON, Canada), has been measured in the temperature range 300 to 1000 K, using the laser flash technique. From these data, the thermal conductivity has been calculated. The thermal conductivity ranged in value from 3 W/mK at 300 K, decreasing to 2.2 W/mK in the 425 to 675 K temperature range, and then increasing to ∼ 2.6 W/mK at 1000 K.
