Abstract

Xiaoliang Zeng, Rong Sun, and co-workers report the manipulation of the orientation of silicon carbide nanowires (SiCNWs) in polymers in article number 1700446. The oriented, thermally conductive networks constructed by SiCNWs achieve efficient heat transfer: fabricated epoxy/oriented SiCNW composites present a high thermal conductivity of 10.10 W m−1 K−1 at low filler loading (5 wt%), while only 1.78 and 0.30 W m−1 K−1 are achieved for epoxy/random SiCNW composites and epoxy/SiC nanoparticle composites, respectively.
