Abstract

The free energy, the effective mass and the DC mobility of electrons strongly coupled to ripplons (ripplonic polarons) on a thin film of liquid He are calculated. The path-integral technique is utilised. It is found that the temperature dependence of the mobility is of exponential type with the characteristic energy proportional to the coupling constant, and the prefactor is independent of the coupling constant. The conditions for strong coupling are also examined with reference to experiments.
