Abstract
Our ultimate goal is the simulation of carrier transport in semiconductors using the potential of the ions as the sole input. This should enable us to describe within a single framework both the carrier kinematics (band structure) and most of the dynamics (carrier-phonon collisions), and will constitute a stringent test for our understanding of semiclassical charge transport in semiconductors.
