Abstract

Reinhard Dohl’s topic deals with the medium radio. In the first part of his artic1e he presents this medium with regard to the genre of the radio play by examining its nonliterary aspects in early radio-plays written by Oskar Mohring and Alfred Doblin (»Biberkopf«). The second part analyzes theories on radio and radio plays at its early stage around the 1930s in connection with the contemporary political rightist and leftist tendencies and theories of intellectuals like Richard Kolb, Alfred Doblin, Arno Schirokauer, Hermann Pongs, Bertolt Brecht and Walter Benjamin.
