Abstract
The volume of the meaning of a word is considered to be the most important in the determination of the pseudoequivalence limits of two words in different languages. On this base there are absolute, partial and contextual pseudoequivalents. Bilingual dictionaries don’t often give the understanding of the depth of the notion of a lexeme, but are consigned to determine the equivalence between two foreign words without conside-ring the polysemy of each equivalent. That’s why in this article’s classification and while the determination of the volume of the meaning of Russian and French pseudoequivalents we use mo-dern explanatory dictionaries to avoid translator’s mistakes and the lack of recognition of these words category.
