Abstract

ABSTRACT A tenth-magnitude star on the Palomar Sky Survey prints is at the same position as suspected infrared variable NSV 1710 (IRAS 04430-2336, IRC 20062). This star is also visually variable as it does not appear in several more recent photographic surveys and is not presently brighter than visual magnitude 14. An estimate of the (B -V) color of the star supports its infrared identification as a late-M star. A finder chart is included.
