Abstract
High quality VROA spectra disprove the idea of a methyl torsional mode leading to sizable optical activity above 220 cm −1 in arylethanes. The analysis of the 1450 cm −1 region shows that VROA. provides unique information on the coupling of vibrations in large molecules.
