Abstract
Since it was introduced by Perthes in 1924 and with it's different modifications (Obwegesser 1955, Dalpont 1961, Wolford 1985) through-out the years, the mandibular sagittal split osteotomy has been the most reliable osteotomy to correct 3D mandibular discrepancies.
