Abstract

Four variables used by the College Board for identifying types of high schools were investigated to determine if they yielded information about college achievement in addition to that provided by Scholastic Aptitude Test scores and high school achievement. Classification of schools by percentage of graduates attending college, location, and private or public provided additional information about achievement for about 11% of 6,278 freshmen.
