Abstract

This paper aimed to study the use of play mechanics in the detection of talented in Jeddah province and its impact on the level of students' performance and achievement. The researcher used descriptive analytical approach. The researcher used two tools which were: a questionnaire and an application design for Gamification included three main dimensions: enjoyment - engagement - motivation. The study sample consisted of (30) students. The results showed high and positive effectiveness of the use of play mechanics in the detection of talented and raise their level of performance and achievement, the overall ratio of it reached (76.67٪), where the first dimension (enjoyment) got a ratio of (70%) with a mean of (3.22), the second dimension (engagement) , got a ratio of (83.33٪) ) with a mean of (3.49), as for the last dimension (motivation) it got a ratio of 73.33٪)) with a mean of (3.12). Based on the results, the study suggested a number of recommendations the most important of it were: Expand the circle of the application of the scale of play mechanics according to the proposed mechanism for pre-study stages, and use play mechanics to encourage students to try new things and avoid fear of making mistakes, and the need for play mechanics to engage students in their activities deliberately to ensure that they retain the real environment simulated by those activities.
