Abstract
Objective: Ankle–brachial pressure indices (ABPIs) are useful in screening for significant peripheral vascular disease (PVD) but require training, expertise, and are operator dependent. The reliability of MESI (MedEarly Healthcare, Nenagh, Tipperary), a novel, operator independent, and affordable device that uses oscillometric analysis to measure ABPI, was compared with ELCAT (Sword Medical, Dublin), the conventional Doppler technique in the vascular laboratory.
