The use of mind mapping to improve writing skill of the eighth grade students of junior high school

Introduction

Writing is one among four skills in learning English which is regarded as one of the productive skills. Writing is a part of communication which uses written form for sharing ideas, information, opinions, suggestions, etc. It is used as the way to communicate with others in written form. Langan (2010) states that writing is a skill which can be mastered. Writing skill is a complex skill which is considered to be difficult for the beginner. Like the other skills, writing can be mastered if the writers are ready to work and learn what the writers must know
