Abstract

The paper presents the results of numerous laboratory experiments aimed at establishing a relationship between mechanical bending and thermo-EMF of steel samples used for the manufacture of units and parts of rolling stock. The mechanism of the occurrence of permanent deformation is studied. The effect of the loading form of the samples on the value of thermo-EMF recorded experimentally is shown. It has been suggested that it is possible to control the elastic properties of rolling stock elements through the value of thermo-EMF.
