Abstract

One hundred and seventy-five paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and other art objects from the collection of the University of Kansas Museum of Art were exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, from April 15 to June 30. From the foreword we quote two comments:“The collection of the University of Kansas Museum of Art distinctly reflects the spirit in which it was formed, a spirit of fascination with objects as precious specimens of man's creative genius, and a sense of wonder at his ability to fashion them with consummate skill and sensibility, as well as an appreciation for their importance in helping the specialist chart the history of ideas.”—Phillippe de Montebello, Director, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.“… a supreme example of what can be done towards filling educational needs in a relatively short time on a restricted university budget.
