Abstract

The successes of our historians, many of whose writings constitute contributions of the greatest value to world historical scholarship, are indubitable and substantial. By concrete analysis of social phenomena, Soviet historians have demonstrated the profound correctness and vitality of the Marxist-Leninist concept of the historical process. On the basis of investigations devoted to world history and the destinies of many peoples of Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, they have demonstrated that progressive development is inherent in social law, that the replacement of the capitalist socioeconomic order by the socialist is inevitable, and that it is possible for various countries that have won freedom from colonialism to follow a noncapitalist path of development.
