Abstract
A series of composite materials were prepared on the basis of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) having different siloxane functionality, filled with two types of metal complexes containing siloxane segment, derived from condensation of 1,3-bis(3-aminopropyl)tetramethyldisiloxane with 3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxibenzaldehyde and 5-chloro-2-hydroxibenzaldehyde. The main objective of the proposed study is to introduce transition metal complexes with Schiff-base ligands that contain siloxane spacers into the PDMS matrix and examine the effect these complexes have on thermal stability. We investigated the produced gases using thermogravimetry coupled with FTIR and MS in order to analyze the thermal stability and degradation pathways of a variety of silicone composite materials.
