Abstract

The purpose of the article is to to consider the interaction of language and society on the example of modern German in the context of general linguistics and philosophy, psychology, culture. The object of this study is the German language in the perspective of social differentiation in the German-speaking space.The subject of research is the functioning of the German language in the structure of social relations and functions of society. The research uses methods of structural, comparative and sociolinguistic analysis, psycholinguistic method of observation. Results: it was found that the structure of the German language is a reflection of the socio-cultural situation in the German-speaking area. The relationship between language and society can be traced at different levels of language: phonetic, morphological, lexical, syntactic. Language penetrates deeply into all spheres of society and largely determines the behavior of individuals in it. The practical value of the research lies in understanding the relationship between the structure of the German language and the use of the theoretical basis in practice. The research can be used in applied and theoretical sociolinguistics and system-structural linguistics. Conclusions. The structure of the German language correlates with the socio-cultural situation in the German-speaking area. The relationship between language and society is inseparable and can be traced at all levels of language. In turn, language penetrates deeply into all spheres of society and largely determines the behavior of individuals in it.
