Abstract
Purpose The Melimine Antimicrobial Contact Lens (MACL) clinical trial was conducted to assess its efficacy in reducing corneal infiltrative events (CIEs) during extended wear. The current study investigated the susceptibility of bacteria isolated from contact lenses (CL) of subjects with CIEs during the trial to the Mel4 (Melimine) antimicrobial peptide and the impact of Mel4 on bacterial adhesion to CLs in vitro.
