Abstract
The first International Conference on the problems of working out national economic balances and of applying the balance sheet method in planning was held at the end of 1959 in Warsaw. The conference was attended by delegates from institutes of economics of science academies, economic institutes of state planning committees, and by officials of state planning committees and central statistical authorities of the socialist countries.
