Abstract

The work deals with the possibility of replacement of traditional liquid scintillation cocktail by YAP:Ce powder. The basic scintillation parameters were investigated, such as geometry, efficiency and activity linearity dependences as well as auxiliary parameters like afterglow, temperature dependency and repeatability usage. All parameters were simultaneously measured using AquaLight scintillation cocktail as a standard used by the Army of the Czech Republic. Both outcomes were subsequently compared resulting in confirmation, that YAP:Ce powder is one of the possible substitutes.
