Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of Dexamethasone and Montelukast on Eotaxin and CCR3 of asthmatic rats. Methods Fourty-eight SD rats were sensitized and challenged by 1% ovabumin to establish asthmatic model. Results The number of Eotaxin mRNA and Eotaxin protein positive cells as well as the number of CCR3 protein positive cells form group B,C and D were down-regulated significintly, compared to those form group A (P<0.01).The number of CCR3 protein positive cells in lung tissue and bone marrow form groups B and C,as compared with group D,the difference was significant. Conclusion Dexamethasone probably inhibited the expression of Eotaxin and CCR3; and decreased eosinophil number in the level of bone marrow,Montelukast probably down-regulated them.Montelukast showed apparently synergistic effect with Dexamethasone to inhibit the expression of Eotaxin and CCR3. Key words: Asthma; Eotaxin; CCR3; Dexamethasone; Montelukast
