Abstract
This paper mainly involves with the well-posedness of two-dimensional irrotational, non-viscous, incompressible jet flows through a finitely long nozzle. In comparison with the significant results on incompressible jet flows issuing from an infinitely long nozzle in [2] and [3], we propose a set of physically reasonable boundary conditions on the inlet and the outlet of the finitely long nozzle and establish the existence and uniqueness of the incompressible jet issuing from the finite nozzle. More precisely, given a horizontal velocity in the inlet and the atmospheric pressure patm, there exists a unique incompressible jet flow issuing from the given finite nozzle.
