Abstract
The SpaceFibre standard is developed for local networks on board spacecraft. This standard specifies guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) support based on Virtual Networks (VN) mechanism. The resources of physical network are used by VNs in time division mode. The independent data transmission by VNs is supported during regular network operation. Every VN may use physical network resources correspondingly its QoS parameters. However, fault may occur in any of Virtual Networks and data transmission by this network is impossible due to this fault. The SpaceFibre standard does not support reset of individual VN. The reset of complete network (all VN) is possible. But the reset procedure required a long time. The data transmission during this time is impossible. This may be not acceptable for Hard Real Time systems. In this article, we propose the Reset of separate Virtual Network mechanism. This mechanism provides possibility of regular data transmission with QoS support by others Virtual Networks when one Virtual Network in Reset state.
