Abstract

The plasmonic trimer composed of graphene nanodisks is proposed in this work. The symmetry of the proposed nanostructures is reduced by modifying the chemical potential or the radius of each nanodisk. When the sysmmetry is reduced, the degeneracy of the plasmonic modes lifts. The electromagnetic response including the eigen energy distribution and the extinction spectra of the graphene plasmonic trimer with variant chemical potential and radius are systematically investigated. The proposed structure may find broad applications in the fields of high precision chemical and biochemical detection or light-matter interaction.
