Abstract

Crime prevention has different methods and models, of which the dignity-based prevention model is one of them. Dignity-based prevention means that in the process of facing the crime, the character and inherent dignity of the criminal is taken into consideration. Prevention based on respect for the criminal's human personality is based on the assumption that people's social status has an effective role in committing or not committing a crime. The aim of the current research is to investigate the role of respect for the criminal's human personality in crime prevention from the perspective of Islamic teachings and to find a model of effective confrontation with the criminal phenomenon and its prevention. The current research seeks to provide an answer to the question of what respect the criminal's human personality has in Islamic teachings and what effect this approach has on crime prevention. The data of the current research has been collected through library studies and analyzed using the analytical-descriptive research method based on Islamic teachings and criminology. The findings of the research indicate that according to Islamic teachings, committing a crime does not create a disturbance in the inherent dignity of a human being, and this issue has Quranic, narrative and rational foundations, which include components such as emphasis on the concealment of some crimes, forgiveness and negligence in the actions of some There are punishments. The obtained results indicate that respect for the human personality of criminals, which is emphasized in Islamic teachings, has a decisive role in crime prevention based on criminological findings. The present article first explains the key concepts and then examines the basics of respect for the human personality of criminals in Islamic teachings and the components of the prevention approach based on respect for the human personality of the criminal.
