Abstract

The article is devoted to the selection of technology for wireless data transmission in 5G, 6G networks with a speed of more than 1 Gbit/s. In the scientific literature noted the disadvantages in the use of the method of data transmission via radio waves and the inability to effectively use radio as a communication channel in 5G, 6G networks. In this regard, the article describes the features, key characteristics, requirements for new generation cellular networks. Various wireless optical communication (OWC) technologies and their physical characteristics are considered. The scientific novelty lies in the consecration and generalization of this problem in Russian. According to the results of the study, it was concluded that optical communication can be used as an effective solution for the successful deployment of 5G, 6G networks.
