Abstract

Information is a key concept of our time. We know that a piece of news can change or transform our thoughts, our emotions, and our actions in both individual and social respects. The emerging concept of information is broader than its traditional usage. Unlike artificial systems, living systems are affected by the information they receive. This study outlines the concept of information as it appears in integrated conceptions of the natural and human world: in so-called “paradigms,” classical as well as modern.
