Abstract

This research aims to investigate the role of citizen’s journalism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in achieving the sustainable development that the Vision of 2030 programs and plans brought in. We used the descriptive approach and the questionnaire tool that we distributed to a random sample of 350 individuals to answer research questions and achieve its goals. The results showed that the use of social media is the main form of citizen journalism practice and that these communication and media practices for the general public can contribute to achieving the sustainable development called for by Vision of 2030 in terms of simplifying information, explaining, interpreting and promoting development vision goals, plans and programs in addition to strengthening the love of the nation and spreading awareness in society and alerting to excesses and assisting official bodies and agencies in the performance of their tasks as well Citizen journalism can give the opportunity to participate in national development programs and plans and achieve sustainable development in the Kingdom.
