Mapping of research trends, collaborations, and developments in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in biology education is still inadequate and has not been systematically explored. Evidence-based insight investigations that can guide future research and provide guidance on effective AI integration strategies in biology education are needed. Biology learning, which involves abstract concepts and complex data, is expected to be integrated with AI to support the innovation of interactive learning tools, improve critical thinking skills, and enrich the learning experience. This research aims to analyze the role of AI in improving the quality of biology education through a bibliometric approach. This research uses data from Scopus with the keywords “artificial AND intelligence AND biology AND education,” which includes 302 publications from 2000 to 2025. The analysis was conducted using Bibliometrix and Biblioshiny on the RStudioVR platform. The results show a significant upward trend in publications, especially after 2018, with a peak in 2023. The United States and China are the main contributors to these publications, with scientific articles (40.9%) and conference papers (25.1%) as the most dominant document types. In addition, Lecture Notes in Computer Science emerged as the most relevant source, demonstrating the important role of computer science in the development of AI for biology education. The findings are expected to provide strategic insights for more effective AI implementation in the future.Abstrak. This study aims to map the research landscape concerning the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in hadith studies. It seeks to identify key academic trends, including publication growth patterns, frequently explored topics, institutional and individual contributions, emerging research directions, and areas that remain underexplored. The analysis employs bibliometric methods based on data from the Scopus database, covering the period from 2013 to 2024. The findings reveal a significant increase in scholarly interest, with 103 publications identified, reflecting the growing recognition of AI's relevance in hadith scholarship. Among the most prolific contributors is Sayoud, H., while the most cited work—Hadith Data Mining and Classification: A Comparative Analysis by Saloot M.A. et al. (2021)—highlights the multidisciplinary importance of AI in the classification of hadith. Publication analysis shows that the Journal of Theoretical and Applied Information Technology, Lecture Notes in Computer Science, and Procedia Computer Science are the leading platforms for disseminating AI-related research in this domain. Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia stands out as the most active institution in this field. Geographically, Malaysia leads the research output, contributing 30 publications. Topic mapping identifies key research themes such as hadith, authenticity, narrator, Qur'an, model, approach, technique, and classifier. Emerging topics—including authenticity, narrator, reliability, isnad (chain of transmission), saying, and deep learning—indicate a growing focus on hadith authentication and chain analysis using AI technologies. Conversely, areas such as complexity, challenge, meaning, phase, order, Muslim, and legislation appear to be underrepresented, suggesting potential opportunities for future exploration. This study highlights the growing integration of AI into hadith scholarship, urging institutions to adopt digital approaches, expand research collaboration, and explore underrepresented topics through broader datasets and mixed-method analyses to advance both theoretical and practical dimensions of Islamic studies.

U-multimedia framework: a secure and intelligent multimedia service framework based on context information in U-home
  • Apr 5, 2008
  • The Journal of Supercomputing
  • Deok Gyu Lee + 3 more

In the last few years, intelligent secured multimedia services play a vital role along with ubiquitous home environment (Park et al. in Lecture Notes in Computer Science, vol. 4097, pp. 660---670, [2006]; Lecture Notes in Computer Science, vol. 4159, pp. 893---901, [2006]; IEICE Trans. Inf. Syst. E89-D(12):2831---2837, [2006]; Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence, vol. 4252, pp. 777---784, [2006]; Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence, vol. 3801, pp. 313---320, [2005]). There are certain constrains and limitations in providing effective and efficient services in U-home. The mechanism and applications are integrated to realize such services. Three different kinds of ubiquitous multimedia services are proposed in the framework. Based on the temporal and spatial context information, the surrounding situations are recognized. The contexts are collected and well analyzed with the preconditions to provide the final services. The proposed framework provides efficient services in the multimedia based deices based on the current context information.

Planar Polyline Drawings via Graph Transformations
  • Aug 15, 2008
  • Algorithmica
  • Huaming Zhang

We study the problem of transforming plane triangulations into irreducible triangulations, which are plane graphs with a quadrangular exterior face, triangular interior faces and no separating triangles. Our linear time transformation reveals important relations between the minimum Schnyder’s realizers of plane triangulations (Bonichon et al., Proceedings of the 20th Annual Symposium on Theoretical Aspects of Computer Science, Lecture Notes in Computer Science, vol. 2607, pp. 499–510, Springer, Berlin, 2003; Research Report RR-1279-02, LaBRI, University of Bordeaux, France; Brehm, Diploma thesis, FB Mathematik und Informatik, Freie Universitat Berlin, 2000) and the transversal structures of irreducible triangulations (Fusy, Proceedings of 13th International Symposium on Graph Drawing, Lecture Notes in Computer Science, vol. 3843, pp. 177–188, Springer, Berlin, 2005; He, SIAM J. Comput. 22:1218–1226, 1993). The transformation morphs a 3-connected plane graph into an internally 4-connected plane graph. Therefore some of the graph algorithms designed specifically for 4-connected plane graphs can be applied to 3-connected plane graphs indirectly. As an example of such applications, we present a linear time algorithm that produces a planar polyline drawing for a plane graph with n vertices in a grid of size bounded by W×H, where $W\leq\lfloor\frac{2n-2}{3}\rfloor$, and $W+H\leq\lfloor \frac{4n-4}{3}\rfloor$. It uses at most $\lfloor\frac{2n-5}{3}\rfloor$bends, and each edge uses at most one bend. Our algorithm is area optimal. Compared with the existing area optimal polyline drawing algorithm proposed in Bonichon et al. (Proceedings of the 28th International Workshop on Graph-Theoretic Concepts in Computer Science, Lecture Notes in Computer Science, vol. 2573, pp. 35–46, Springer, Berlin, 2002), our algorithm uses a smaller number of bends. Their bend bound is (n−2).

Publication Trends on Mobile Learning in Science Education
  • Apr 30, 2024
  • International Journal of Advanced Research in Education and Society

Mobile learning is gaining popularity in science classes because it has the potential to increase student engagement and learning. This bibliometric analysis examines the trends in mobile learning and science education publications. Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) datasets were used in this bibliometric analysis. ScientoPy was employed to analyse the data obtained using keywords (“mobile learning” OR “m-learning”) AND (“science education” OR “science learning” OR “science teaching” OR “science”). The keywords “Mobile learning”, “e-learning”, “mobile devices”, “gamification,” and “higher education” are the top five keywords used in previous publications. With 32 publications, the most productive institution is the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. The top three source titles are Computers & Education, Lecture Notes in Computer Science (Including Subseries Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence and Bioinformatics), and the International Journal of Mobile Learning and Organization. The study’s results give an overview of how mobile learning in science education has changed and can guide future research in this field. This bibliometric analysis also illustrates the current research on mobile learning in science education. The results suggest that mobile learning could be an excellent way to get students more interested in science and help them learn more. Inevitably, this bibliometric review of mobile learning in education only scratches the surface of a vast body of literature, with some parts of the theme have been disregarded.
