Abstract

Background: The endoscopic endonasal approach (EEA) to the ventral skull base allows excellent access to the suprasellar, retrosellar, and retroclival spaces while limiting brain retraction. Injuring the internal carotid artery (ICA) is a known complication of this approach. Understanding the anatomy of the ICA will minimize this risk.
