Abstract

The resonance Raman spectrum of tetramethylbutadiene in its lowest excited triplet state, with a reported lifetime of 80 ns, is presented. The triplet state was produced by laser flash photolysis using acetone as sensituer in acetonitrile. Transient Raman bands were seen at 1620, 1395, 1353, 1275, 1239, 1048, and 521 cm −1.
