Abstract
In order to improve the operation efficiency of the gas engine heat pump system (GEHPs) and avoid the engine deviate from its economic zone, an energy storage system was introduced to the GEHPs. The gas engine heat pump system with energy storage system (ESGEHPs) is divide into three modes, and the control strategy is presented. The relationship of the speed of the engine, the fuel-consumed rate, gas engine thermal efficiency of the ESGEHPs and real-time building load was studied in the typical day, and comparison was taken with the GEHPs. The experimental results show that the ESGEHPs is more matching the real-time building load with a higher operation efficiency. The primary energy ratio (PER) of the ESGEHPs in three modes was increased by 67.87%, 9.5% and 32.66% compared with the GEHPs, respectively. The ESGEHPs could provide a more stable operation characteristic and higher PER than the GEHPs with a little energy loss.
