Abstract

Under the influence of globalization and technological developments, changes have started to occur in the way businesses do business and processes have started to become digitized. Accordingly, organizational cultures are also evolving from analog cultures to digital cultures. The role of leaders in the digital transformation process in enterprises is also becoming more important. On the one hand, leaders should be responsible for the most accurate execution of the digital transformation process, and on the other hand, they should contribute employees to the understand and support this transformation. In the enterprises of the future, leaders should have the ability to be agile, communication-oriented, have digital literacy, people-oriented, manage change and do strategic planning. This is an important element not only in terms of the digital transformation process, but also in terms of preventing negative feelings that employees may develop towards the business for reasons such as workload, negative organizational climate, uncertainty, and change process. The negative feelings and attitudes that employees create towards the business are called cynicism. Cynicism has become an important topic of organizational behavior and business management in recent years due to the consequences it affects. Leadership and organizational culture are important factors in terms of preventing cynicism. For this reason, it is important for enterprises to prevent cynicism in the process of preparing for the future in order to increase employee support and loyalty. In this book, the importance of leadership and the relationships between the concept of cynicism and the concept of leadership in the process of preparing enterprises for the future are discussed within the framework of organizational culture. The effect of the preferred leadership styles on cynicism depending on the culture of the organization has been evaluated and suggestions for the future in terms of business management have been included. It is thought that this book will make a positive contribution to the literature for academics, managers, human resources professionals and students who are trying to understand the relationship between leadership and cynicism.
