Abstract

<p>Open public spaces in urban and rural areas are essential because they encourage interaction between citizens and connect the built urban fabric. That is why the planning and maintenance of these spaces are vital and require constant improvement following modern man's needs. For this reason, special attention must be paid to these areas when planning documents are in creating. This work investigates the relationship between planning practice in Bosnia and Herzegovina and green open public spaces. Given that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a specific planning system, spatial planning documentation of different spatial levels will be analyzed in the paper. The results should indicate ways of treating green open public spaces in the spatial planning process.</p>
