Abstract

Social change is considered to be a continuous process that occurs within specific laws and causes in accordance to its comprehensiveness, profoundness, and context of occurrence. Change may occur within the human self, which is considered the starting point of changing society as a whole. Change may also occur within a specific social class, which may experience change at the root, or a change of rule in accordance with the laws of recurrence, conflict, or consecutive observation, while it may be global change. All forms of change are subject to the laws set by the Creator, as He made for each type of change its own reasons, which may be numerous and complicated. However, the most powerful side usually relates to the role of humans, who may make it good and positive, or bad and negative. Mentoring and education are among the most important ways through which change can be made. The essence of what the Qur’an advocates as a whole is to mentor people and to educate them, and to advocate positive change. The Qur’anic method of change is, at essence, that of mentoring by applying various methods in specific contexts.
