Abstract

A method involving the interaction of hexamethylene tetrammine and mercuric chloride in a solution acidified with hvdrochloric acid is described for the identification of the two substances and for ammonia and formaldehyde as well. The obtuse profile angle of a rhombic crystal of the product has been determined to be 135° 30′.
