Abstract

The temperature dependence of the gluon and quark condensates is investigated in an effective sigma-type model, incorporating the trace and the axial anomaly of QCD. The restoration of the chiral invariance is accompanied by a small discontiuity in the gluon condensate. The tension and the width of the interface between the coexisting phases at the transition point depend sensitively on the average mass of the glueball—scalar-singlet system.
