Abstract

Using a 20 cm curved mica crystal spectrograph of the transmission type, a new diagram line at λ = 1391.87 X.U., corresponding to the transition L 1N 5 (γ |), has been observed for the first time in the L-X-ray emission spectrum of Dy. This has been possible by successfully eliminating the usually present copper K-spectrum from the body of the commercially available demountable X-ray tubes.
