Abstract

The paper outlines some of the electrical and physical properties of manganese-zinc ferrites and the mechanisms by which they occur. Initial permeability is shown to depend on stoichiometry, granular structure and composition, while the temperature coefficient of permeability is shown to be controllable by the addition of small amounts of trivalent metallic impurities. The influence of composition and manufacturing conditions on the losses, Curie point and induction is examined, and a note on the high-frequency properties is included.
