Abstract

The photoemission threshold was studied for the Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 crystal with K and Cs submonolayer films deposited upon its surface. The films had different surface concentrations of K and Cs atoms. An anomalous concentration dependence of the threshold was found at T<Tc. The main feature is an appreciable energy shift of the threshold (up to 0.4 eV) for a large variety of submonolayer coatings.
